About Me

Who am I? Well...that is a question I have been working on for most of my life. I grew up with the feeling that I was very different from the rest of my relatives. I never really fit in to my family. My childhood was not a good one and I lived most of my life feeling alone and isolated. Today...I have contact with only two of my brothers. I struck out on my own when I was 17 years old. I forged my own path and made my own choices. Some of them good...some not so good...but as my spiritual teacher always says "it's all good darlin". My journey to learning who I am has been a long one with lots of bumps in the road. I have taken the long road of healing from an abusive childhood and loss of innocence to come to the place that I am...and the person I have become. I am proud of who I am today...of the life I have created for myself...and of what I have made of it.

My goal in life is to become the best person that I can...to find my destiny and purpose on this earth and fulfill it to the best of my ability. I find that I have gifts that permeate all that I am and all that I do. I have a gift of "sight" that sometimes enables me to help others gain clarity on their path. I sometimes am used by those who have passed over to communicate with loved ones and those they are reaching over to assist. Other times...I can see things that others do not be it a spirit or an animal that is appearing to me.

I have a passion for helping children and animals. I would do just about anything to keep them from going through the hell that I did growing up. As a Special Education Teacher (and former social worker) I am able to touch many lives...and be touched. I love my students and all that they bring to my life. I am blessed on a daily basis...and often cry with a broken heart...but am always honored with the job I have been given. As a volunteer with Second Chance Animal Rescue (please read more about them on the Earth Angels page)...I am also blessed with the honor of helping special needs animals find the loving homes they deserve. I have met some wonderful friends through this group who are a constant source of support. Then there are blinddogs and BDAlbum...my friends...my support...my family. I can't say how much I love them and how much they have meant to me.

My spiritual group and teacher have helped me to grow in a way I never dreamed. I have been able to connect with my ancestry and gain a sense of belonging that I never had growing up. I have developed a connection to my animal, spirit and ancestral guides that has been invaluable in my healing and spiritual growth. I have learned of true magic and unconditional love. I am thankful to all who have come into my life to teach me...even if the lesson was a difficult one.

So who am I? I am a teacher, a mom (to my beautiful Amber whose spirit is always with me...and to my fur babies who fill my life with unconditional love), a rescuer, a messenger of sorts, a friend and a sister...among other things. I am like many people on this earth who has a longing to connect with those who share my path. I have learned that sharing that path does not mean that we are exact replicas of each other...but instead a spectrum of colors and shades to create the rainbow of our existence.

In the sunlight
There lies a shadow.

In the darkness
There is a light.

In the silence
There is a song.

In the noise
There is no sound.

Seemingly opposite
Yet...one...along the spectrum.

There are no absolutes
Only shades of colors.

Shaping our reality
Into the rainbow
Of our existence.
